Angus is the General Manager for Defense & Intelligence within the Commercial Strategy & Operations organization at Microsoft.

Gus was commissioned into the British Army in 1986. He served as an artillery officer supporting training and operations in Africa, the Balkans, Canada, the Far East, the Falkland Islands, Germany, the Mediterranean, Norway, and the United Kingdom. His military career culminated in 1999 where, as the Staff Officer (J2) for 4th Armoured Brigade, he was part of the NATO led operations in Macedonia & Kosovo.

After retiring from the British Army, Gus certified as an SAP HCM Consultant, initially focused on supporting defense and public security initiatives. In 2005 he took over the responsibility for coordinating the Public Services growing portfolio and managing the day to day operations of the group as chief of staff. In 2010 he was appointed Global Head of the Defense & Security industry business unit – a position he held for the next 10 years.

Gus graduated as a Staff Officer from the Junior Command & Staff College, the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in 1996 and completed his MBA from ESSEC & Mannheim Business Schools in 2010.
