Director.
Hanwha Defense.

Pasi Pasivirta is Director of Hanwha Defense. In January 2019 Mr Pasivirta retired from the military service after 30 years of distinguished service. In July 2019 he joined Hanwha Defense International.

During his extensive service in the force and also as Director of Artillery, Mr Pasivirta successfully completed programs including the Finnish K9 acquisition, long range engagement capabilities development (GMLRS) and verification, and indirect fire anti-tank capabilities acquisition.

From 2005 to 2007 Mr Pasivirta worked at the European Defence Agency (EDA) , where his duties included development of an EU Long Term Vision and initial EU Capability Development Plan. As the Director of Department for Defence Technology in National Defence University (2013-2015) he was responsible for Military Technology application and Defence Acquisition education. In his last position as the Director of Artillery (2016-2018), he was responsible for artillery acquisition programs, international cooperation, and personnel management.

In addition to military education, Director Pasivirta has a MSc degree in Systems Engineering for defence from Cranfield University, UK. He has a very good understanding on military requirements and requirements management processes.
