Benet Northcote is a Senior Adviser to Seahorse Environmental, a strategic sustainability advisory firm. He is Deputy Chairman of the Conservative Environment Network, which he founded with Ben Goldsmith, and a Trustee of both the Green Alliance thinktank and the UK Centre for Ecology and Hydrology.  He is also the Sustainability Strategy Adviser to the British Standards Institution and member of their Net Zero Strategic Advisory Group.  

Until 2020, he was Director of Corporate Responsibility for the John Lewis Partnership where, for seven years, he led a team managing sustainability across the John Lewis and Waitrose brands, operational health and safety, ED&I and wellbeing.  Prior to retail, he served as Deputy Private Secretary to HRH The Prince of Wales, working on global climate, sustainability and rural policy issues.  He joined the Royal Household from Greenpeace UK where, as Chief Policy Adviser, he worked across climate, energy and transport policy.
