After AFF’20, our Chairman Lord Sedwill challenged us to raise the bar again and deliver a Forum of truly exceptional quality and consequence and we believe PFF'21 did just that. Senior political, military, business, and technology leaders from across 22 nations were represented on board with over 1000 delegates joining virtually from around the world and throughout the Indo-Pacific region.
We are putting the Future Forum on the map and with the Prime Minister’s encouragement, creating an annual summit that will shape ideas and policy between key allies and partners. From the inaugural event in New York in 2018 to the Forum we hosted this year on HMS Prince of Wales, we have come a long way and demonstrated the global convening power of our aircraft carriers.
We will continue to build the Forum to make it an annual and enduring event creating a unique opportunity for Government, Policy Makers, and the private sector to come together with allies and partners around the world to explore, discuss and shape our ideas in the areas of defence, security and our shared prosperity agenda.
The PFF aims to foster dialogue and cooperation between democratic nations, providing a platform to convene and debate the most pressing global challenges of today, from climate change and the economic aftershocks of COVID-19 to the future of defence and the technologies of tomorrow.
PFF'21 looked eastwards, broadening the scope of the Western alliance to reflect our increasingly interdependent and globalised world. Its core focus was to bring together like-minded nations in the East and West to reset, partner and reimagine a model of multilateralism that can tackle the world’s greatest challenges.
Since its inception the Forum has brought together senior decision makers and distinguished thought leaders from around the world. Previous delegates include heads of state, ministers, military and diplomatic leaders, and high-ranking representatives from industry, academia, and the media.
